Common Questions
We recommend using the 5 Little Monkeys Platform Foundation to support the mattress. However, our kids mattress is compatible with most solid surface or slatted platform beds, bunk beds, foundations, box springs, daybeds, and trundles. Our mattress can also be placed on the floor during the transition from crib to big kid bed.
It may be a mattress designed for kids, but there's no weight limit on our kids' sleep system bed – and we encourage parents to snuggle in bed with their little ones!
The 5 Little Monkeys Mattress is made from a unique blend of 3 types of foam: the Comfort Layer has temperature-regulating memory foam technology, the Support Layer is made with responsive memory foam to help support lighter-weight bodies, and the Base Layer strengthens the layers above for durability, comfort, and resilience.

So many things! But here are a few specific features of our sleep system bed:
- ● Kids have a tendency to sleep hot which can prevent good sleep. We have a proprietary temperature regulating technology in the foam that helps kids sleep at their ideal body temperature for restful sleep.
- ● Kids have lighter weight bodies, so we designed our support layer to have responsive foam for proper support.
- ● Kids make "mistakes" so we made sure the fabric used on our cover is stain and water resistant, plus the cover is removable and machine washable with a heavy duty zipper for easy clean up.
- ● We only use safe materials including organic cotton in our textiles that are OEKO-TEX ® certified and CertiPUR-US (r) certified foam.
The 5 Little Monkeys children’s mattress is suitable for kids that are 3 to 18 Years old. However, don't be surprised if your high school graduate decides to take theirs off to college.
Yes, our mattress protector is guaranteed 100% waterproof and will protect against any accidents or spills that occur on the children’s mattress.

Yes! It is 100% machine washable, and you can throw it in the dryer on low. It's also super easy to spot clean using a damp cloth.
